Feeling Festive!

This weekend I went to the Christmas market in Ely with my family and my wife’s family, who are visiting from Spain at the moment, and it turned into one of those days where you only plan to have a quick wander but somehow end up completely swept up in the atmosphere and you're out for hours!
Ely cathedral looked even more stunning than usual with all the Christmas lights shining against the stone (if you have never visited, I highly recommend it.) The cathedral had that lovely warm glow that makes you feel festive whether you intend to or not!
There were so many handmade gifts, crafts and treats that I couldn’t work out what to buy first - I always like to buy locally as much as I can to support local business and trades.
As you know, the weather was pretty unfortunate at the weekend with endless rain and strong cold winds, but even that did not spoil our lovely time.
I have been to quite a few Christmas markets over the years and I can honestly say the Ely one is the best I have ever been to. There is something very charming about it and it reminded me how much I love this time of year.
I am now feeling very festive, but I am resisting the urge to put the tree up as it is still a bit too early....isn't it??
