Our Latest In Person ADHD Support Group Meet Up

Yesterday we held one of our regular in person ADHD support group meet ups and it was a fantastic afternoon.

We had a brilliant turnout, which can be a surprise as with ADHD often comes lapses of memory - forgetfulness is practically part of the entry criteria for these groups!

A Table Full of Chat, Laughter and Relatable ADHD Moments

As always, there was plenty of conversation, a lot of laughter, and more than a few very relatable ADHD stories being shared around the table. Alongside the classic ADHD mishaps, there were also some brilliant ADHD wins that people wanted to celebrate.

We enjoyed some really tasty food and plenty of hot drinks, which were very welcome because it definitely was not the warmest of days. Sitting together, warming up with a drink, and chatting away created such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Overcoming the Small Worries That Stop People Attending

Before the meet up, a couple of people had mentioned that they were worried about parking or about finding the table when they arrived. It always surprises me how many people will avoid going somewhere entirely if they are not confident they will find an easy parking space - it is a common worry.

In the end though, everything went smoothly and everyone managed to find us without any problems. Once people arrived and settled in, those little worries quickly disappeared.

Why ADHD Support Groups Matter

One of the things I love most about these meet ups is the moment when people realise they are surrounded by others who genuinely understand.

There is something incredibly reassuring about being able to talk about the things that go wrong as well as the things that go right, without having to explain yourself or apologise for how your brain works.

Sharing ADHD wins, laughing about the chaos, and supporting each other through the tricky bits is an important reminder that none of us are alone.

Looking Forward to the Next ADHD Meet Up

If you have ever wished you could sit down with a group of people who simply get it, that is exactly why these meet ups exist. They are relaxed, welcoming, and full of people who understand the ups and downs that come with ADHD.

I am already looking forward to the next one.
