The Importance of Refection

I’ve been spending some time reflecting recently - with ADHD, reflection does not always come easily. My brain often races onto the next thing, or I find myself replaying what I should have done differently (hello RSD!) I often feel in a state of perpetual urgency so it can be hard to take a moment to be still.

However when I DO pause, I realise how valuable it is; I spot progress I’d otherwise miss, and I remember the small wins that get lost in the 'busyness'. I also notice where I need to be kinder to myself instead of piling on the pressure!

Reflection can be such a powerful tool for those of us with ADHD; not as a way to criticise or chase perfection, but as a way to build awareness, spot patterns, and create strategies that actually fit the way our brains work.

Reflection, for me and for my coaching clients, isn’t about judgement; it is about curiosity, and it is about noticing, so we can choose what to carry forward.
