Weekending in London - The Festive Spirit Continues!

My wife and I spent the weekend in London while my parents looked after our children - between our busy careers and family life we rarely get time for ourselves, so a weekend away was just what the Doctor ordered.

We visited Covent Garden and apparently there are around 300,000 lights strung through the piazza and surrounding streets this year- part of their display called “The Theatre of Christmas”. There was a huge 55 foot Christmas tree which was lit up with thousands of lights; it was beautiful and it's one of those things you have to see in person to truly appreciate.

We also visited Carnaby Street in Soho to see their light display which is named “All Is Bright” and certainly lived up to its name! It was quite the contrast to the more traditional style of the Covent Garden display.

Walking through those stunning displays with a hot chocolate and sharing plenty of laughter was food for the soul. I highly recommend visiting Covent Garden if you are down this way - I managed to get quite a bit of Christmas shopping done too which is remarkably early for me!

I am back home now, and more ready than ever to throw myself into another busy week of coaching!
