Overcoming Overwhelm: The "3 Things" Technique
Do you ever find yourself staring at a massive to-do list, unsure of where to start?
You bounce from task to task, feeling like you're making no progress at all?
If this sounds familiar, I have a simple yet effective technique that can help you regain focus and reduce overwhelm: the "3 Things" method.
All you need is a mini whiteboard or a piece of paper and a pen.
Take a moment to go through the tasks on your to-do list and choose the three that feel the most important to you and write them down.
Once you have your three tasks, put the to-do list away.
Number the tasks 1, 2, and 3 based on importance to you.
By focussing on just one thing at a time, you’ll find it easier to make progress. Once you complete a task, you get to enjoy the satisfaction of crossing it off your list.
This technique is particularly helpful when suffering ADHD overwhelm. By narrowing your focus to just three tasks, you can reduce anxiety and increase productivity.
I follow this method myself and I find it very effective.
Why not give the "3 Things" method a try and see if it works for you?
