Is your ADHD child struggling to revise?

Are you at your wits’ end trying to help your child with ADHD prepare for exams?

Does your child snap back that you’re just nagging, no matter how gently you try to support them?

This time of year can feel intense. Whether your child is preparing for GCSEs, A-levels, or mock exams, revision is tough. And for children with ADHD, it can feel almost impossible.

Revision relies on executive function skills like planning, organising, prioritising and maintaining focus. These are exactly the areas where ADHD presents the greatest challenges.

If their desk is a mess, their phone is a constant distraction, and nothing seems to motivate them to get started, you’re not alone. It’s a familiar picture.

The good news is, help is available. I work with young people using techniques designed specifically with ADHD in mind. That might mean using visual timers, time-blocking tools, or the Pomodoro technique - whatever suits their way of working. The focus is always on what fits them, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

If you feel your child would benefit from a calm, neutral person to guide them through revision, I am currently offering one-off emergency sessions to help get things back on track for your child, for a discounted rate of £75.

Get in touch if you'd like to talk it through.
